To answer the obvious question, yes the Howlin' Brothers do indeed howl on their major label debut called Howl. They also hoot, holler, bash away at banjos while fiddling as the barn burns down.

Back in March, we posted the video for " Howl ," a truly excellent plainspoken pop single from the teenage British singer Chlöe Howl. The Portland electro-pop duo YACHT have now remixed that track, turning it into full-blooded, fleet-footed dance-pop that wouldn't sound out of place on the new Disclosure album (which, I feel compelled to point out again, fucking rules.)

I love Psychocandy , I adore Darklands and I'm also pretty crazy about the befuddlingly underrated 1998 album Munki , but it was the Jesus and Mary Chain's Barbed Wire Kisses (B Sides And More) that came rushing out of the band's canon to smite me good and proper.

Frode & Marcus I get why people have such affection for Shout Out Louds' 2005 debut Howl Howl Gaff Gaff ; the way it tapped into the scrappy, garage-rock sound in vogue at the time but rather than the insouciant attitude that typically came with the aesthetic, it offered a wide-eyed and sincere charm and stood apart from the pack for it.
