Eric Adam Avery (born April 25, 1965) is an American musician. He is best known as the former bass guitarist and co-founding member of alternative rock band Jane's Addiction. Avery is currently the touring bassist for Garbage, and was briefly a member of Nine Inch Nails in 2013. In 2008, Avery released a solo album, entitled ''Help Wanted''. Avery played in Jane's Addiction initially from 1985 to 1991, and rejoined the band in 2008 before departing again in 2010.
