New York underground rapper El Gant earned lots of acclaim over the years without crossing over into the commercial mainstream. In 2001 he released his debut album, It's Over, along with the self-titled single El Gant. A guest feature on "Bonic," a track on the Beatnuts' album The Originators (2002), followed. El Gant continued his solo release output in subsequent years, independently releasing The Evolution of Execution (2004), Hungry, Vol. 2 (2007), and Quit Your Day Job (2008). ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
