El Gant's flow is definitely a polished craft he's acquired over the years. The speedy lyricist just runs through tracks, and to some pretty sweet beats. How a sparsely known Caucasian kid straight out of Albany, NY, got people on his album like New Jersey's Pacewon of the Outsidaz, El da Sensai, and Kool Keith to tag-team with him on his solo effort listeners may never know. One thing for certain is that El Gant has a lyrical gift and hopefully listeners will hear him on some more DJ mixes after this album, and some singles would be nice, too. It's encouraging to know that in 2001 there are still plenty of unsigned quality rappers surfacing to keep things interesting. ~ Brad Mills, All Music Guide
