Texas singer/songwriter Drew Kennedy was actually born in Virginia and began performing there and in Maryland before moving to Houston after graduating from college, later relocating to New Braunfels. He released his debut EP, Hillbilly Pilgrim, on Thumbs Down Music in 2003, then gained notice by writing the title song for Jason Boland & the Stragglers' album Bourbon Legend. That disc was released by Sustain Records on October 31, 2006, and Sustain signed Kennedy for the release of his debut album, Dollar Theatre Movie, which appeared on March 27, 2007. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
