What The Critics Say

Recorded a couple of years before, this disc was just released in 2001. A good deal of the reason for it being released was the renewed interest stemming from guitarist Pat Lachman's presence in Rob Halford's band. Those expecting to find a classic metal sound like that group will, however, be disappointed with this release. Diesel Machine's form of musical mayhem fits into the death metal category, and it is convincing release of that type of sound. However, it really does suffer from a definite sameness. In fact, every song on the album is quite similar. There are moments of diversity, particularly in the intros, but once the song proper kicks in, so do the redundant tendencies. If you like death metal, give the first song or two a listen. If they work for you, the whole album probably will please. It might grow old rather quickly, though. The other members of the group are A.J. Cavalier, Rich Gonzales, and Shane Gaalaas. ~ Gary Hill, All Music Guide
