Deep Space Network Meets Higher Intelligence Agency

What The Critics Say

Deep Space Network's David Moufang and Jonas Grossman team up with Birmingham ambient techno duo Higher Intelligence Agency for a deliriously funky foray into deep space ambient electro. Like HIA's summit with Finnish techno soloist Biosphere (released just prior by Beyond), this album is heavy on the synthetic textures, with bleeps, bloops, and otherwise treated electronics supporting a barrage of abstract, mostly breakbeat machine-born percussion. ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide

Traffic: Live at the Love Parade

What The Critics Say

Live albums in the world of electronica are notoriously tedious affairs. Nonetheless, Traffic is a more-than-worthy follow-up to Big Rooms. The pair make up for the limitations of live sequencing and tracking with smart, well thought-out tracks that buoy lightly along on airy electronic beats and sampled stand-up bass licks. A couple tracks lack oomph, but overall the album is surprisingly listenable. Released on Moufang's recently established Fax subsidiary. ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide

Big Rooms

What The Critics Say

One of the earlier successful combinations of ambient-leaning soundscapes and vinyl-sourced drum breaks, DSN's first full-length is not as chill as the project's name might suggest. Sill, the beats are atypical and never monotonous, and the tracks mesh instruments, electronics, samples, and rhythms with subtle flair. A nice introduction. ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide
