David Scott "Dave" Mustaine (born September 13, 1961) is an American musician, best known as the original lead guitarist for the band Metallica (1981–3), and the founding guitarist/vocalist of the band Megadeth (1983–present). Mustaine is now a born-again Christian, and has become known as a conservative commentator.
