In a Quiet Room II

What The Critics Say

This is a follow-up to the 1995 album In a Quiet Room. Most of the songs on this second-part offering are just as mellow as the ones on the first. There are a few bounces too, including background vocals done by artists Alison Krauss and Pam Tillis -- both very talented ladies of country who can sing like angels. You'll also hear plenty of acoustic guitar and great lyrics on this album. Songs like "Nights Are Forever Without You," "Three Time Loser," "We Are One," and "Love on Arrival" kind of take fans back to earlier works by Dan Seals. In a Quiet Room II is one of those recordings that is perfect to accompany a lazy, relaxing afternoon when you want to just sit back, close your eyes, and let the music and its words and meanings flow over you. ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

In a Quiet Room is an acoustic album featuring Dan Seals running through a number of his biggest hits, as well as two new songs, one of which -- "The Healing Kind" -- boasts a guest appearance by Alison Krauss. It's a pleasant album, yet it doesn't offer any new revelations or great performances, which means it's a record only hardcore fans need to pick up. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

Dan Seals, Texas-born and raised, is a gifted songwriter and a commanding singer. He gets his musical talents honestly; his father was a musician, his uncle a hit songwriter. By the age of four, Seals could play the string bass and took a spot in the family band. In the '80s he won a number of country music awards, including Songwriter of the Year, Single of the Year, and Vocal Duet of the Year. This 1994 album, Fired Up, released under the Warner Bros. label, carries several superb tracks, like "A Good Place to Be," "Hillbilly Fever," "A Rose From Another Garden," "Gentleman of Leisure," and "Love Thing." Country fans who like a little pop beat added to their music will find this album a sure keeper. Even those who prefer their country served straight up will be pleased with the lyrics of most tunes. ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

This is the product of a man very much in touch with his emotions. In "Bordertown," "A Heart in Search of Love" and "Wood, " he works the listener's heart with the skill of a surgeon. At the same time, "Good Times" and "Love on Arrival" are incredibly celebratory. ~ Tom Roland, All Music Guide
