What The Critics Say

Originally released on Fantasy Records in the '70s, Damon Harris' Silk is a quality release. The first thing that grabs you is Harris' uncanny vocal resemblance to Eddie Kendricks, whom he replaced in the Temptations. The upbeat tracks are lightweight but pleasing, with imaginative basslines, but it's the midtempo songs and ballads that demand your attention, particularly the romantic "Funday" and "Actresses." The upbeat rompers "It's Music," "Dish It Out," and "Silk" are dance-club specials. Female vocal group Breeze accompany Harris on these eight tracks. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
