Deviant Septet --an acclaimed ensemble modeled after Igor Stravinskys favored instrumentation of violin, bass, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, and percussion--will perform the NYC premiere of a new collaborative evening-length work entitled Histories, written by six-piece composer collective Sleeping Giant, on May 24th at Brooklyn's Issue Project Room. Histories is Sleeping Giant 's first-ever collaborative piece and was written exclusively for Deviant Septet to serve as a companion piece to Igor Stravinksy's LHistoire du Soldat, the piece after which the Septet is modeled.
