One of many duos quick to jump on the industrial music bandwagon made temporarily ultra-hip in the early '90s by the highly successful Ministry, Pat McCahan and Kipp Johnson formed Candiru in Harrisburg, PA. However, unlike Ministry, Candiru (aptly named after a South American "vampire" catfish known to infiltrate and feed off an unsuspecting host's urethra!) substituted layered guitar overkill for more widespread use of samples and programmed beats.
