I look at Bill Hicks, a truly subversive comedian with enormous talent, a comic who championed drug-taking of many forms and styles, and I consider the fact that he died of cancer age 32, and even though my entire rational faculty storms against the logic of this view, a small part of me can't shake that innate old-school fear that God got Bill good and well before his time for what he done said on the stage.
