What The Critics Say

This is quite possibly the best Goa you'll ever hear. Astral Projection, the trance duo based in Israel, returned for Another World with more cuts and beats than ever. If it's trance, Goa, or psytrance that the listener wants, this is by all means the best buy. Every track on the album is fast, long, hopping, and spews forth the complex sound that's the trademark of Astral Projection. The songs range from a slower breakbeat type of sound on "Still on Mars," presumably the sequel to their earlier "Life on Mars," to purely computerized techno-esque trills on "Visions of Nasca" to what seems to be black box recordings on "Searching for UFOs." The songs form a coherent whole, though, which is important, as the album appears to be primarily for usage in the midst of a rave or some such item. Listeners may think that the songs sound similar, but that's partially intentional. One of the great marks of an electronica album of any sort, be it pure techno, Goa, breakbeats, etc., is that it makes for a good party album, which means that it must never, ever slow down. This is exactly what Astral Projection is good at, and it shows on Another World. True Goa fans should check out Astral Projection's first album, Dancing Galaxy first, but definitely give Another World a few times through the CD player. ~ Adam Greenberg, All Music Guide
