Aproximation Biography

One man with many names creates the experimental, electric, and complex sounds of Aproximation. Boulder, CO, resident Wade McDaniel (aka thewade, the Pox, sir Waderick) started Aproximation as a solo project away from his duties in the bands mAYhEm and thewade and Meathooks of Freedom. The complex but communicative sound of Aproximation is influenced by McDaniel's diverse education in the arts and computers and his graduate studies in the world of digital synthesizers and real-time performance software, plus his desire to exchange ideas and experiences with his audience. McDaniel's communicative desires can also be seen in his interactive Megadolkadot website and Noise, the journal he publishes with frequent collaborator Maggie "mAYhEm" Snyder. The sculptor, visual artist, and musician released Aproximation's debut, Disknextnext, in 2005 through the Megadolkadot label. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
