Lowell, Cold Specks add solo Sebright shows

CMU approved Canadian artist Lowell has just arranged to promote her new mini-LP, 'If You Can, Solve This Jumble' , via a one-off live date at London's Sebright Arms on 11 Dec. In similar info, Mute's Cold Specks will play her own solo set – also at the Sebright – on 21 Dec. It's a special Winter solstice party, and tickets are free to those who RSVP via this Facebook page.

Lowell announces mini-album release date

CMU approved back in July, Apparatjik protégé Lowell has announced that she will release her debut mini-album, 'If You Can't Solve This Jumble', on 29 Oct. As previously reported, the record was recorded with Apparatjik, aka Coldplay's Guy Berryman, A-ha's Magne F, Mew's Jonas Bjerre and producer and songwriter Martin Terefe.

While working with producer Martin Tereffe on her forthcoming debut mini-album, 'If You Can, Solve This Jumble', Canadian singer Lowell ended up appearing on his band Apparatjik 's second long player, 'Square Peg In A Round Hole', which was released earlier this year.

The origin of the word Lowell in both English and French means Wolf Cub. Lowell had been working in the studio with Martin Terefe, Grammy award winning producer and member of the Apparatjik collective (Magne F (Aha), Guy Berryman (Coldplay) and Jonas Bjerre (MEW)). Terefe and the young Canadian artist ended up duetting together for Apparatjik's Everybody Is One Bar project, whereby fans and other artists were encouraged to re-work tracks that would later appear on the bands second album, "Square Peg In A Round Hole".
