Andy Falco Biography

Flatpicking guitarist Andy Falco started out playing lead guitar and singing with the Northeast-based Water Street Blues Band; he stayed with them until 1999. He worked as lead guitarist and singer with Buddy Merriam & Backroads from 2000 to 2004 while basing himself in New York. In 2004, he moved to Nashville and became a member of Alecia Nugent's band, appearing on her album A Little Girl...a Big Four-Lane; he also performed with the Greencards. In 2007, he became a member of the Infamous Stringdusters. He has also worked with artists including Malibu Storm, the Dixie Bee-Liners, Vanessa Carlton, David Amram, Levon Helm, Vanessa-Mae, Jimmy Vivino, and Carl Jackson, and appeared on such albums as Highway of Dreams by Bradley Walker, Darren Nicholson by Darren Nicholson, Garrett Grass-Gospel 2005 by Jeremy and Glen Garrett, and Celebration of Life: Musicians Against Childhood Cancer. In the fall of 2007, FGM Records released his debut solo album, Sentenced to Life with the Blues. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
