Not to be confused with And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, And None of Them Knew They Were Robots -- who are affectionately referred to as the Robots -- is a quartet that hails from Leeds, England. After extensive touring that included opening slots for like-minded acts such as Dismemberment Plan, Burning Airlines, Owls, and Les Savy Fav, the band released their seven-song debut EP on Pigdog in mid-2002. That same year, they appeared on a compilation of British bands called Amped Up. Blistering guitar work, vocals that are alternately screamed and sung, and an agile rhythm section vaguely describes their sound; their roots are firmly entrenched in the more aggressive end of U.S. indie rock from the '90s. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
