time to take a break from all this madness. here we have a song off deadstring brothers recently released bloodshot record, cannery row. i have had this record on my harddrive for the past couple weeks, and as per usual, i am just getting around to listening to it. i dont know much about aly tadros and her song featuring ben balmer, "whim," but apparently it was inspired by streaking and alcohol. if you knew me way back when, i was known to streak through parties on a whim – no pun intended. new orleans artist john michael rouchell, who you may know better as the main man behind my name is john michael, has a new ep coming out on april 27 entitled the seperation ep. i loved his work with his previous band, and i dont see that love stopping with this solo work.

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper , aka Brooklyn folk singer Aly Tadros, released her newest album, Ripely Pine , last week (2/19) via Ba Da Bing, and played a few Northeast shows in support of it this month, including a NYC show over the weekend at Knitting Factory on Saturday (2/23) with Xenia Rubinos and Cuddle Magic.
