Recordings of the last concert tour in Turkey by Kurdish protest musician Ahmet Kaya, before his death in Paris in November 2000, have been released in a special DVD set this month via the label GültenAhmetMelis Production, a record company founded by the musician's widow, Gülten Kaya. The DVD set, titled lkemde Son Turnem" (my last tour in my country), features concert recordings of 17 songs by Kaya, who died at the age of 43 during a self-imposed exile to escape several charges arising from his political views.
