What the Critics Say

DJ Patife, one of the most renowned Brazilian electronica artists, here teams up with drum'n'bass artist Mad Zoo (who like DJ Patife is from São Paulo) to work on 11 Brazilian tracks and mold them into their own brand of drum'n'bass. The result is very impressive. The different voices and compositions by excellent artists like Fernanda Porto, Patrícia Marx, Cláudio Zoli, and Wilson Simoninha lend stylistic variety to the album. The three great, elegant, melodic, and very "Brazilian"-sounding tracks by Fernanda Porto -- "Sambassim," "Tudo de Bom," and "Amor Errado" -- constitute the backbone of the album. Patrícia Marx, with "Sem Pensar" and "Demais Pra Esquecer," adds soulful coolness while Wilson Simoninha and Cláudio Zoli, with his jumpy soul-pop, add a lush, more orchestrated form of drum'n'bass with a brass section. From start to finish, this is a very enjoyable album indeed. ~ Philip Jandovský, All Music Guide
