What the Critics Say
Taken from 1959 San Francisco nightclub performances, this is highlighted by his pokes at The Steve Allen Show and the phone company. The centerpiece, though, is "The Palladium," a sketch about the tacky showbiz elements of the London Palladium which goes on for 20 minutes, a nearly unheard-of length (on record at least) in the late '50s. The entire album is contained on the CD reissue The Lenny Bruce Originals, Vol. 2, which pairs Togetherness with most of the 1960 LP American. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
