What the Critics Say

Thunderpuss' Barry Harris and Chris Cox are mad producers who've built funky remixes and intoxicating dance hooks around some of the biggest musical celebrities. Their self-titled release celebrates that drive and motivation, capturing some of the pair's brightest club tracks. From the bombastic techno swirls of LeAnn Rimes' "Can't Fight the Moonlight [Thunderpuss Club Mix]" to the vibrant trance loops of Kristine W.'s "Clubland [ThunderDUB]," Thunderpuss delivers a brash take on molding the perfect dance track. Electronic music was practically mainstream by the dawning of the new millennium; however, Thunderpuss maintains a fresh spin. Harris and Cox hook up with soulful vixen Pepper Mashay on the trance disco twist of "Dive in the Pool [Wayne G's Circuit Anthem Mix]," and Madonna's "Don't Tell Me [Thunderpuss Anthem]" is spicy and hypnotic. Like the duo's club/dance counterparts, Thunderpuss allows dance music to be more accessible. It's not exactly elegant or sophisticated, but it fits the demographic of those eager for a quick trance fix. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
