What the Critics Say
As the title indicates, The Intimate Jim Reeves emphasizes the ballad stylings of the countrypolitain singer, highlighted by the hit single "I'm Gettin' Better." Like most of Reeves studio albums, it suffers from an uneven selection of material, but his performance is smooth and convincing, as is the stylish production. Together, they make the album an enjoyable listen, even if its appeal is limited to dedicated Reeves fans.
