What the Critics Say
What's an Astrud Gilberto compilation without "The Girl from Ipanema"? And what's a chancy budget-line collection without an embarrassing re-recording of the only hit in attendance? Dressed to Kill's ten-track Gilberto collection includes a batch of '70s tracks from the Brazilian chanteuse, leading off with Vince Montana, Jr.'s recasting of the title track. Also included are a bare few interesting tracks, including "Far Away" with a vocal and trumpet solo by Chet Baker. The same material was previously repeated on identically titled collections from Prime Cuts, Bellaphon, and Brilliant. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
