What the Critics Say
Stay Young 1979-1982 includes INXS' first two records (their 1980 self-titled debut and 1981's Underneath the Colours), as well as all of the group's singles and B-sides from the era. Listeners looking for the band's more focused work of the late '80s and '90s should avoid this compilation, as the two albums that it's built around contain well-played but fairly forgettable examples of the new wave pop that dominated the age, illuminating a band that was still looking for its voice among a deluge of similar acts.
