What the Critics Say
The proteges of Millie Jackson, Facts of Life were two men and one woman who came across like the Soul Children on barbiturates. A remake of "Sometimes" was more country than soul, but the lyrics and straightforward vocals hit home, and it became the pinnacle of their short career. Their first release, "Caught in the Act," got some airplay in the South but never broke anywhere else, and Frederick Knight's "Uphill Peace of Mind" stalled. If you like deep soul with a country flavor, this isn't bad, but their lineup forces comparisons to the Soul Children, and given a choice, the latter is preferred. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
