What the Critics Say
Somebody Loves Me offers a program of pop standards and love songs that receive the full vocal-group treatment rather than the wordless vocalizing for which Ray Conniff is known. The voices are out in front and gorgeously arranged, with the male and female singers on opposite sides of the stereo spectrum. More suave than Mitch Miller's singalong albums but just as infectious, Somebody Loves Me has moments of real drama, like the crescendo at the end of "Golden Earrings." Conniff himself plays the clavietta on a few selections, adding a new flavor to his smooth concoction. The album was a Top 20 success for Conniff and his chorus and should hold appeal for those with an interest in vocal groups as well as Conniff's followers. ~ Greg Adams, All Music Guide
