What the Critics Say

Tyler was, and is, one of the most important behind-the-scenes men in New Orleans R&B. His baritone sax booted along countless '50s R&B hits, and he did a great deal of producing and arranging for Ace. A bit later, he began to be featured more on tenor, and he recorded a few tenor sax instrumentals for Ace in 1958 and 1959. This album collects those, plus a track each from Albert Joe and Anne, and Calvin Spears, that he produced and/or arranged. ~ Roundup Newsletter, All Music Guide
