What the Critics Say
An outtake and rarities album of the Residents that holds together better than one would expect. Appearing on shelves while the group were on their massive Mole Show tour, the 12 tracks sated fans with desire for more Residentia. There's many rarities here: "Kamikaze Lady" from their unreleased Baby Sex album; a remix of "Diskomo;" the first appearance of their ugly, stomp-heavy, homoerotic take on "Jailhouse Rock" (prefiguring their obsession with Elvis by nine years); and their most overt political song (for them) "Saint Nix" (as in Nixon). A majority of these tracks went on to fill up the CD reissues as bonus tracks, until being removed for the 1997 remasters, turning up as Residue Duex. ~ Ted Mills, All Music Guide
