What the Critics Say
Released in time for the 2010 holiday season, The Poison Collection combines The Best of Poison: 20 Years of Rock with 1991’s Swallow This Live, trimming some excess fat from the latter (including the six-minute drum solo and nine-minute guitar solo) to limit the entire collection to two discs. Also included is an “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” bandana emblazoned with the same pierced-heart logo that appears on the album’s cover. For the devoted fan looking to delve a little deeper into Poison’s history, the live disc captures the guys at the tail-end of their debauched heyday, touring in support of Flesh & Blood with a whacked-out C.C. DeVille in tow (he flubs a few guitar solos here, and was eventually kicked out of the band two months before the album’s original release). ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
