What the Critics Say
Perceptions of Pacha is the first in a series of mix albums, inspired by and indebted to one of the oldest clubs on the Mediterranean hotspot of Ibiza. House stalwarts Farley & Heller call on some classic Balearic vibes for this mix, moving from smooth, sensual disco into stomping house but rarely forsaking exuberant tribal rhythms, as on tracks like the excellent opener "Raise the Dead" by Kimbu Kimra and "Roots" by Tedd Patterson. Grabbing a series of mostly unfamiliar tracks from rather obscure labels, the duo cultivates a smoothness and consistentency in its mix that's rarely equalled on DJ albums, making for not only a seamless flow but an exciting album as well. Highlights come from Sessomatto ("Moody"), Eddie Amador (his remix of "True House" by C&M Productions), H2O ("Got to Be Me"), and Malawi Rocks ("Something to Smile About"). ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
