What the Critics Say
Similar in mood to Flower, Mime contains an assortment of styles and genres, and contains their tumultuous, rockin' single "Babylon," probably the best example of their hard rock sound. "Oosama" nicks part of its melody from Duran Duran's "Is There Something I Should Know?" and is a smooth concoction; "Drive" lopes along with soft, melancholic horns; and Magumi's vocal reaches heartbreak level. Bass player Tatsu shines on this album, constructing twisting melodic lines unlike any he's done before, while drummer Yukiyoshi contributes "The Last Apple," where a bubbling bassline pulls and pushes at the vocals and its simple chords structure. A solid entry in Lä-Ppisch's ever-multiplying discography. ~ Ted Mills, All Music Guide
