What the Critics Say
Castle's Live in Amsterdam is a recording of the Who's September 29, 1969 show at Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Holland. While it isn't as complete as the Swinging Pig's bootleg version, Castle's edition sounds terrific and it's a good showcase for the Who's loose, ferocious and vital performance, even if it doesn't quite meet the peaks of the officially released Live at Leeds and Isle of Wight. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
