What the Critics Say
While Kate Bush has never managed to find major success in the United States, she has created quite a legend for herself in her home country of England. Still, there are legions of die-hard fans in the U.S. who buy her every album. The news of the live concert Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1979 being made available, ten years after its recording, came as very welcome news to Bush fans stateside who still fantasize about her live performances. Kate runs through some of her best songs, and even without the benefit of her stunningly visual stage show, the music remains fresh and exciting. From the sultry ballad "Feel It" to the hard-rocking "James and the Cold Gun," Live at the Hammersmith is an audible feast. ~ Michael B. Smith, All Music Guide
