What the Critics Say

Latin Boss would be Ros' first really hip 1960s album, were it not for a dated mix of bossa novas with Mexican chestnuts. The organ-led bossa novas are very welcome, relatively subtle respites from the overbearing horns of other selections; for these alone the album is worthwhile. And in fact, the brass tunes, notches above most Herb Alpert emulations, have their moments. But the decision to mix the two to this degree can be attributed only to fads of the day. ~ Tony Wilds, All Music Guide
