What the Critics Say

Jabo is Donald Glenn, a bluesman whose affection for zydeco music inspired him to fuse the two on Texas Prince of Zydeco. Since the music is Lone Star State-oriented rather than from New Orleans, the resulting hybrid is intriguingly odd; saxophonist Leon Childs appears on every cut, and Glenn's own accordion sounds bluesy even on the most manic zydeco number.
