What the Critics Say

Out of all the Talk Talk compilations, Introducing features one of the more bizarre track listings, forgoing '80s compilation staples like "Talk Talk" and "It's My Life" in favor of B-sides -- albeit very worthy B-sides -- like "John Cope" and "It's Getting Late in the Evening." The first five tracks are plucked from the two synth pop albums -- including "Call in the Night Boy," the B-side of the non-album "My Foolish Friend" single -- while the following seven run through The Colour of Spring and Spirit of Eden. This disc will only make good on its title if you should happen to be in the teeny-tiny minority of people who want to check out the synth pop era of the group without hearing the biggest hits. However, this will be ideal for fans who want cheap access to some of the group's best B-sides without breaking for the extensive and more expensive Asides Besides. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
