What the Critics Say
I Got The Touch found L.V. Johnson making a few concessions to urban contemporary tastes, but only a few. Despite some new jack moves here and there, this CD leaves no doubt that classic soul is where his heart lies. While the title song is a new jack-oriented number with a pedestrian cameo by rapper Styles, silky medium-tempo songs like "Are You Serious," "Take a Little Time to Know Her" and "I Am Missing You" could have easily been recorded in 1972. Tina Turner fans will be surprised by "What Do You Mean Love Ain't Got Nothing To Do With It," a clever response to her 1984 smash "What's Love Got To Do With It." Though it falls short of the excellence of Cold and Mean, Touch definitely has a lot going for it. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
