Heartbeat, It's a Lovebeat - The DeFranco Family

The fact that the back album cover is more concerned with hocking Tony DeFranco posters to teenage girls than listing the songs should tip the listener off that the music was not the first consideration when making this record by Canada's answer to the Osmonds. That said, "Heartbeat - It's a Lovebeat," with its squeaky vocals, tribal drum breakdown, and erupting chorus, is one of the most infectious teen pop songs ever released and long overdue to be sampled and put on a hip-hop album. ~ Steve Kurutz, All Music Guide
