What the Critics Say
Great Gonzos is a good cross-section of 14 of Jerry Jeff Walker's best-known songs, including "Mr. Bojangles," "Old Five and Dimers Like Me," "Desperados Waiting for the Train" and "Sangria Wine." It's not necessarily definitive -- several of his actual charting hits did not make the collection, including "Jaded Lover," "It's A Good Night for Singing," and "Got Lucky Last Night" -- but it cuts to the essence of Walker, making it an excellent introduction. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
