In addition to starring in Ghosts...Of the Civil Dead, an Australian film about a brutal maximum-security prison in Marion, Illinois, Nick Cave composed the film's powerful and evocative soundtrack along with assistance from Bad Seeds Blixa Bargeld and Mick Harvey. While much of the record consists of spoken accounts from guards and inmates, the predominant musical motif is Bargeld's eerily subdued industrial guitar; the often-repeated main theme also includes cello, a tin whistle and lyric-free vocals. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
