What the Critics Say
Nelson's first album for Decca set the pattern for the mid-'60s LPs he would record for the label: professional, respectable, and somewhat tame, although there would always be some bright spots worth a listen (usually in the form of James Burton solos). The material often recalls, but does not match, his earlier '60s ballads such as "Travelin' Man." "Gypsy Woman" is an uncommonly tough number for the period, and "I Will Follow You" is a decent cover of the Little Peggy March hit "I Will Follow Him." Some of the better numbers show up on the best-of anthologies covering Nelson's Decca period, and most listeners are best off limiting themselves to those. For Your Sweet Love was combined with his subsequent 1963 album For You on a single-disc CD compilation on Ace Records. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
