What the Critics Say
A much-improved second effort by the quickly snowballing hype machine known as the Wildhearts, 1992's Don't Be Happy...Just Worry went a long way toward explaining just why so many overenthusiastic (and possibly delusional) music journalists became so enthralled with the band's peculiar mixture of promise and looming disaster. Some versions also contained remixed versions of the four tracks featured on the band's first EP of a few months earlier, the disappointing Mondo Akimbo A-Go-Go, qualifying this double EP as a mini-CD of sorts. If nothing else, this move helped prove just how far the Wildhearts had come in those six months, and tracks like the energetically brainless "Splattermania," the wistful "Dreaming in A," and the all-around tour de force "Something Weird (Going on in My Head)" already hinted at the band's very solid full-length debut the following year. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
