What the Critics Say
Nigel Richards is notorious for having fun with his DJ/producer career, successful record label, and clothing line. This is no better proved than on the opening of his mix, which is a sample from the famous "Wild and Crazy Guys" sketch done by Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd on Saturday Night Live. Nigel Richards: DJ Mix, a Commemorative Mix for the Whistle 3 Party is dedicated to the ten thousand-plus who attend Philadelphia's Whistle3 techno party. With this CD, Nigel mixes straightforward techno with traditional house sounds, and manages to please both ends of the spectrum. He even throws in Simon's remix of the speech "Free at Last" to give listeners something familiar to grab onto. Nigel starts off strong with the housier side and gently slides into the harder beats, using his own productions and Frankie Bones' "Baseball" as tools. Richards keeps the energy smooth and even throughout the entire mix, representing Philadelphia and himself very well. ~ Diana Potts, All Music Guide
