What the Critics Say

Trapped between inescapable comparisons to Metallica (a very poor man's Metallica, let's be clear) and the novelty value of their cover of the "Ghostbusters" theme, English thrashers Xentrix spent 1991 mulling over their next career step. Eventually, they recorded the Dilute to Taste E.P., whose two new compositions, "Pure Thought" and "Shadows of a Doubt," previewed the slower, post-thrash direction undertaken in full on the following year's well-intentioned, but still exceedingly average Kin L.P. Rounding out the disc were four additional live cuts which did little to recommend the band's hit-and-miss previous efforts -- including the infamous, aforementioned "Ghostbusters," frighteningly augmented by a false start into "Summer Loving," from the musical Grease -- ugh! For none but diehard fans, this one. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
