What the Critics Say

Tempo changes across the album keep things interesting and fresh, such as on the song "I Can't Complain," which has a jazz feel. However, the record does suffer from overuse of organ and piano. Both instruments are given too many opportunities to solo and are mixed way up front in the production, causing them to become distracting. Brother Jed's songwriting incorporates many styles, which often allows their music to sound similar to that of G. Love and Special Sauce ("Find Somebody to Talk"), Pink Floyd meets Everlast ("Until You Find Yourself"), James Brown and Frank Zappa ("Cash"), and The Allman Brothers Band ("Ol' Silver"). This works to the advantage of the group in some situations, while in others, it causes their music to sound like a clone of the aforementioned bands. ~ Stephen Howell, All Music Guide
