What the Critics Say
Country Hall of Fame is a terrifically entertaining tribute to not only the institution of the Country Music Hall of Fame (the hit title song is a corny but strong tribute to the foundation) but the performers who grace its halls. Over the course of the LP, Hank Locklin sings standards like "High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me)," "Four Walls," "Walking the Floor Over You," "Lovesick Blues," "Blue Yodel ('T' for Texas)," and "Peace in the Valley," giving them each his patented high, lonesome tenor. It's a very entertaining and even moving record, and it ranks as one of his best albums of the late '60s. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
