This 1997 CD reissue brings back one of pianist Hugh Lawson's rare opportunities to lead a session of his own. With the assistance of bassist Calvin Hill and drummer Louis Hayes, Lawson performs five of his catchy hard bop-oriented originals (including "Creepy Chicken" and "The Beast From Bali-Bali"); "If"; and a jazz version of "Pictures at an Exhibition."
