What the Critics Say
Following on from MCA's and Sony's concept of brief hits collections for a digital age that probably doesn't need them, Capitol's Classic Masters volume on Frankie Avalon is a slim 12-track set. Most of the hits are present though, including "Venus" and "Why" plus "De De Dinah," "Bobby Sox to Stockings," and "Just Ask Your Heart." Still, there are many superior compilations on the shelves, led by Varese Sarabande's The Best of Frankie Avalon or 25 All-Time Greatest Hits. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
